About
The Upper Room is a faith based, non-traditional concert hall and worship center, located in Indianapolis, Indiana. Our primary focus is to share the good news of Jesus Christ utilizing alternative music, including: Hip-Hop, Rap, Metal, Rock and other facets of music.
The Upper Room is the vision of Richard Steffan. It all started in 2008 when he visited the building for his business, MorningStar Restoration. While in prayer Richard saw that he was supposed to take ownership of the property and move MorningStar Restoration into the main level. At that time he was uncertain what would come of the 2nd floor, but he knew it had something to do with music.
Throughout 2009 Richard prayed about The Upper Room and what to do next. In October of that year, Richard met Chris Linhart from Prodigal Sons Productions. After several meetings and spending time together discussing the possibilities of The Upper Room, Richard and Chris came to believe their meeting was a divine appointment.
In Jan 2010, Richard hired Chris to be the General Manager and director of The Upper Room. Shortly after, The Upper Room provided a FREE concert to the people of Indianapolis featuring the 2010 Winter Blast Tour. The concert had over 2000 people in attendance and many people came to accept an invitation for salvation. This event was a confirmation that The Upper Room was on the right track to accomplishing its vision.
The Upper Room is a 13,000 sq ft. facility that is currently being developed. When finished it will offer a large concert and worship center, complete with a greenroom, cafe, lounge area, prayer and game rooms and many other special surprises. We believe it will be cutting edge and welcoming to those who enter The Upper Room!
